Quick Ways To Remove A Bad Tan

FYBC 2:15.jpeg

Glowing skin always looks great, doesn’t it? But most of us become victims of a suntan. Our hands are not as bright as the rest of our body, and that adds to our woes. We wonder if we must go for expensive treatments to bring back our lost beauty.

  1. Yogurt And Turmeric Mask
  2. Aloe Vera
  3. Lemon Juice
  4. Gram Flour And Turmeric
  5. Honey And Lemon Juice
  6. Orange Peel With Milk
  7. Petroleum Jelly
  8. Exfoliation
  9. Borax Powder With Glycerine And Rose Water
  10. Raw Milk

A bad spray tan is unacceptable. Here at FYBC, we take great pride in our spray tanning services. If you recently received a bad spray tan and are hoping for some at home remedies, read along!

The Oldest Trick In the Book

Mix lemon juice with baking soda and together these two will make a paste. Apply the mixture to your skin and let it saturate for about five minutes. After the time is up, remove the paste with a cleansing wipe. By doing this, you will be removing your tan completely. It is a smart idea to test the mixture on a small part of your skin before slathering your body. This way you can determine any skin sensitivity! If you are hoping to simply lighten your spray tan, only leave the mixture on for three minutes.

Relaxing and Effective

One of the best ways to remove a bad spray tan is rather therapeutic. Steam yourself in the shower for fifteen minutes or longer. Exfoliate as best you can, dry off well and moisturize! This little trick will leave you streak free and soft to the touch!

A Quick Fix

If your spray tan is blotchy, a quality face powder or self-tanner can help even out small areas. Use a cotton ball or Q-Tip to apply the product and blend the borders of your skin and the spray tan. This is a great temporary fix.

Your spray tanning experience should be nothing less than amazing. Our spray tan technicians here at FYBC are skilled and experienced! Here at FYBC, we offer the best spray tans in all of Denver. Our secret is our one of a kind formula. It goes on smooth and lasts for weeks, never leaving you looking orange. Book your appointment today.

Pros & Cons: Spray Tanning in the Winter

1:23 fybcThe “lit from within” glow is not easily achieved during the winter. For some, it means drinking more water or using brightening serums are the only solution. And for those with little patience, a spray tan usually does the trick. Getting bronzed in the dead of winter is a quick and effective fix for when our skin tends to look duller. However, many of you out there still associate spray tans and self-tanners with the color orange, stickiness and strange smells. In an effort to dispel any myths surrounding sunless tanning, here is a  breakdown of what to expect before, during and after a spray tanning with us.

The Misconceptions

  • For starters, spray tans are nothing like the tangerine-colored ones you remember from the early ’90s. And they’re not just for people with a light complexion. See, the point of a spray tan is to give you a glow, and not completely alter your skin tone.
  • A high-quality spray tan should give you a natural glow, one that doesn’t leave streaks or inconsistencies.
  • The final color you achieve after a spray tan should dry fast and immediately elevate your glow in just one application.
  • The sign of a good spray tan is that no one should know you have one. To ensure you will be pleased with the final results, have a consultation with a professional and then go for it!

The Advantages

  • A seasoned spray tanner will tell you that aside from looking bronzed all year regardless of the season, a spray tan reduces any redness of the skin.
  • Think of a spray tan as an invisible protective shield that creates the appearance of warmer skin, even if you are under the weather. Not to mention that a healthy glow creates the appearance of a more contoured, slim figure.
  • Spray tans are also much safer than the traditional tanning bed. Indoor tanning raises a person’s risk for skin cancer by 75%.

3 Things That Better The Outcome of Any Spray Tan

FYBC 9:28

There is nothing worse than ruining a perfectly good spray tan. Since spray tans be costly to fix, we decided to let you in on a little secret. There are a few things you can do before your spray tan appointment that will drastically improve the outcome of your tan. Here at Forever Young Body Clinic, it is our job to get your spray tan right the very first time! However, by following these few pre-spray tan steps we can guarantee a spray tan that you will love.

  • Exfoliate

With a gritty or non-oil based scrub, exfoliate your skin well before coming in. Exfoliating before your spray tan remove any dead skin cells that may be on the surface of your skin. If your goal is an even tan, you don’t want to forget this step!

  • Put the Razor Down

We highly recommend NOT shaving or waxing (yes, that’s right ladies you heard us) until after your spray tan has settled overnight. Shaving can be a form of exfoliating and although it is helpful before a spray tan, exfoliating is a big no-no during the first 24 hours after a spray tan. Chances are shaving or waxing will remove your beautiful tan. So, feel free to book your wax prior to your spray tan!

  • No Makeup

Save yourself the last minute hassle and remove any makeup, lotions, or oils on your skin before coming into the salon! However, deodorant, lip gloss, and mascaras do not need to be removed.

We hope to make your spray tan experience with us the best yet. By considering these spray tan tips, chances are your spray tan will come out flawless. Book your appointment today online or simply call to set up your next spray tan! We look forward to seeing you.

3 Tips To Help Prepare Your Skin For Sun Exposure

fybc

Exfoliate and Hydrate

Although neither exfoliating or hydrating your skin can protect you from harmful UV rays, exfoliation and hydration are crucial steps in preparing your skin for sun exposure. Exfoliating is important because it helps remove dead skin cells that build up on the surface of your face after you tan. It is important to remember to not exfoliate before stepping out into the sun, as it removes the protective layer of your skin.

Tanning or any sort of sun exposure has a way of drying out your skin. It is proven that drier skin is more vulnerable to harmful UV rays. By hydrating frequently you are not only moisturizing and replenishing your skin, but you are helping rebuild the protective layer of your skin.

Make Small Diet Changes

It is true that you can improve your skin’s resistance and protect against UV rays by making small changes to your diet! Foods rich in antioxidants, beta-carotene and carotenoids like apricots, peas, carrots, melon, tomatoes, squash, mangos and kale will help your skin when it comes time to reintroduce direct sunlight. Consider consuming more Vitamin E as well. Vitamin E sources like almonds, nuts and vegetable oil offer their own type of protection from the sun.

Slow, Progressive Exposure

The key to maintaining a glow without damaging your skin is to go slow. Progressive sun exposure is the only “safe” way reintroduce your skin to the sun. Keep in mind that you should avoid burning while being in the sun.  Remember that burning increases your risk to skin cancer. Tanning is not good for your skin, so find a great SPF that covers all the UVA and UVB ray spectrum. Keep your sun exposure short and sweet for your safety and your overall look. If you are simply dying to get your summertime glow before spring hits, book an appointment for a spray tan today!

Before the Spring Break Plans Begin…

fybc9

Spring Break is around the corner, which means vacation preparations are about to commence. One thing to consider before setting out on your next sunny adventure is the current state of your skin. If you havent had much sun exposure this winter, it is a terrible idea to jump back into the sun right away. In order to minimize painfull sun burn and to get the most out of the sunlight, ease your way into tanning. In order to look tan while establishing your base, a FYBC spray tan may be in order. When it comes to getting a spray tan, it is important to keep in mind that there are certain rules that should be upheld in order to get the best results. We are here to fill you in on the top 3 precautions you should keep in mind when getting your next spray tan with us!

  1. Don’t wear tight clothes – After your tan your skin is going to be a bit sticky while the formula dries and sets in. That is why wearing super tight clothes like yoga pants right after a tan is not the best idea. Tight clothes just increases your changes of smudging and ruining your tan by making it uneven. Bring along a pair of loose fitting sweat pants instead.
  2. Bring sandals – A small detail that often gets overlooked is the fact that putting socks back on after a spray tan can be a problem! That is why we recommend brining a pair of slip on shoes to get home in after your tan.
  3. Get Your Tan at a Good Time – Allowing enough time for your tan to set in is essential for a long lasting and even tan. That is why we suggest you get a spray tan done on a day where you have some time to kill.

The next few weeks are the perfect time to book your spray tan appointment. Loving the skin your in starts with taking quality care of it.
