Spring is officially here! It’s time pack away the cozy sweaters and scarfs and dig out the tank tops and flip flops. When it comes to beauty, less always seems to be more during the sunnier months. Vitamin D does wonders for the skin, which means you get to spend less time covering blemished and hiding pale skin. In order to make the most out of this spring season, focus on ensuring the health of your skin. The winter months are harsh on the skin, which means a facial may be in order to reverse the effects of the colder weather. If your goal is to rock the natural look this summer start with a microdermabrasion facial. The next step to achieving the natural look is to toss out the thick, pore clogging concealer and use a light, BB cream for coverage. If the natural route is a huge step out of your comfort zone, we can help. All it takes is a little TLC. Our staff is passionate, talented and will be sure to provide the care your skin needs. Take advantage of all the wonderful things the spring has to offer! Support your shift to the natural look with one of our beauty and skin care services. If you are new to the FYBC family, we are offering 50% off your first waxing service. Book your appointment online today.

Cucumber Mint Facial
5 Mint Leaves
1 TBPS Non-Fat Dry Mil
1 TBSP Plain Yogurt
Mix all of the ingredients in a blender until the consistency is smooth. Before applying the mixture to your face, make sure your face is washed. It is important to work from a clean slate in order for the facial to work its full magic. Try your best to avoid your eyes with this particular mask due to the mint. After 15 minutes, rinse with warm water. Glowing, beautiful skin is just one facial away. If your schedule is too busy for a DIY facial, come in and see us. Book your appointment before this weekend and look the very best for all the fun headed your way.
Honey, Green Tea, and Oatmeal Mask
This mask is wonderful for combination, oil or skin with acne. Just as if you were preparing your nighttime tea, soak a green tea bag in boiling water. Next, squeeze out the water from the tea bag into a mixing bowl. With the same tea bag, boil more water and use it to steam your face. Once the facial steaming is complete, begin concocting your face mask.
Mix the ground oatmeal, vitamin c powder and honey in a medium bowl. Don’t be afraid to experiment with the amount of each of the ingredients. Keep in mind that too much vitamin c will not only be hard to dissolve in the water but also it can irritate your skin. Next, apply the mask to your face and neck, but do so in an environment you aren’t afraid to get messy in. This mask takes some time to harden, so we suggest doing this mask when you have a minimum of an hour. There is no set amount of time to keep this mask on. We say the longer the better.
2 Teaspoons honey
2 Teaspoons Ground Oatmeal
2 Teaspoons Water
1/2 Teaspoon Vitamin C Powder
Oats, Eggs and Green Tea
Cut open 3 green tea teabags and empty the inside contents into a bowl. Squeeze a small amount of your normal moisturizer into the bowl. If you are looking to exfoliate, add sea salt or granulated sugar into the mixture. Next, add in the 2 egg yolks, the rolled oats and a small amount of water and mix these ingredients together. If you are having trouble reaching the desired consistency, add more oats and water. In order to open the pores of your skin, rise gently with hot water before applying. Keep the mask on for 15 minutes then rise!
3 Green Teabags
Sea Salt or Granulated Sugar
2 Egg Yolks
Thanksgiving 2015 has almost arrived and we want to make sure that you know exactly what to expect when it comes to the holiday’s effect on your skin. For many, how we eat directly impacts our skin. For example, eating an entire bag of m&ms means that a breakout is most likely around the corner. It is common that when too much sugar is consumed, blemishes come out in the skin. Beware of over consumption of sugary foods this Thanksgiving like candied yams, cranberry sauce, and even pies. Be sure to keep your skin in balance by drinking plenty of water and making sure to get your fitness in as well. Just because it is the holidays does not mean that you have to abandon all your good habits! Take this holiday in stride and remember to love your body! If you need a little extra care for your skin, come in and get a facial!
