Does Tea Tree Oil Remove Blackheads?

FYBC 2:1.jpeg

Blackheads. We almost never know what to do with them. Some sources say squeeze or scrub them, while others don’t. In all actuality, getting rid of blackheads is very simple as long as you know what to do and what to use. The magical fix to blackheads requires one product only, tea tree oil.
Why Does Tea Tree Oil Help Remove Blackheads?

Tea tree oil is great for treating other forms of acne because it contains antibacterial properties, is an excellent disinfectant and is soothing. But what makes tea tree oil so special is its ability to deeply penetrate the skin and get under the clogging in our pores. That being said, it disinfects, dries out the blackhead and unclogs the pores.

Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp fine sugar
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-2 drops tea tree oil
  • A steamer
Treatment Time: 15 minutes.
Method:
  1. Steam your face for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Combine and mix all the ingredients until coarse.
  3. Apply mixture to your face and massage gently in circular motions.
  4. Massage for a couple of minutes and then rinse your face with cool water.
Frequency: 2-3 times a week.
Why This Works

This tea tree scrub is a wonderful exfoliate which helps unclog pores and dry out pesky blackheads. Be sure you are using pure tea tree oil only. Any other variants may end up worsening the conditions of your blackheads.

Instead of buying something at the mall, make your loved one a gift yourself. For this holiday facial scrub you only need a few ingredients:

First pick your oil of choice (I used coconut), sugar, and an oil extract to scent your scrub. Since it’s the holiday’s we chose peppermint extract and a bit of green food coloring.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • 1½ – 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint extract
  • 1 drop green food coloring

Directions

  1. Microwave the coconut oil for roughly 15-25 seconds until softened.

  3. Spoon scrub into air-tight containers like a  mason jar and decorate with twine or ribbon.

Tricks To Managing A Breakout At Home

FYBC 9:19

There are so many DIY skin remedies out there, but it can be tough to know which ones actually work. Here at FYBC, we have tested a few fabulous skin care tips that not only work but can be done in the comfort of your own home. Save your self a trip to the drug store because the ingredients you need for a quick skin care fix are most likely in your cabinets at home. Take control of your skin care once and for all with the help of these tips.

Sea Salt: Sea salt is an antiseptic, which is why many people notice that their skin clears up after being at the beach. The good news is that you don’t need to spend hours in the ocean to reap the benefits of saltwater. You can simply apply sea salt to your face to remove age spots, acne, and wrinkles.

Try it at home: All you really need to do is add one tablespoon of sea salt to a 16-ounce spray bottle of warm water. Lightly spritz your face with the combination each night and let the salt do its work.

Aspirin and Honey: This combination is perfect with skin irritation and inflammation strikes. Although aspirin is most commonly used for pain, it also reduces external swelling, which means a red, irritated pimple can go from noticeable to hardly visible in a short amount of time. Honey, on the other hand, is a natural antibiotic that can disinfect your pores.

Try it at home: Crush a single aspirin in a bowl and add a small amount of toner to create a paste. Apply the paste to your blemish for around five minutes. Wash it off and then apply honey and leave it on for ten minutes.

Lemon and Sugar:  This little trick is great if you are dealing with stubborn pores clogged with dirt and oil. This pair targets oily skin! Since lemons are a natural antiseptic and sugar is an exfoliant, this combination will open up your pores and penetrate the skin to fight acne.

Try it at home: Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle sugar on one of the exposed halves. Apply that to your face each night to remove dead skin. Say goodbye to acne and welcome fresh, glowing skin.

FYBC 7:27.jpg

If you are experiencing seasonal allergies, this post is for you! As summer begins, you may be experiencing swelling, itchy eyes and skin. Here are a few tips that can provide temporary relief and can remedy any allergy symptom you may be experiencing.

Chilled Goats Milk

You can fight just about any eye infections and irritation with chilled goats milk. Goat’s milk has a natural immune boosting effect that can provide relief as the season’s change. Apply cotton rounds soaked in chilled goats milk to your eyes before getting ready in the morning and before bed to curb allergy symptoms for the whole day.

Rosewater Rinse

With pure rosewater, rinse or place a couple of drops underneath your eyes throughout the day. Like the goat’s milk, you can also chill the rosewater for the same calming effect.

Organic Aloe Vera Chill

Just like the goat’s milk trick, apply chilled aloe-soaked, cotton round to your eyes. You can either individually extract aloe from the plant itself or purchase a bottle of pure organic aloe.  The effect is virtually the same. Organic aloe is a must! Not only is this process soothing but it is perfect for bringing down inflammation.

Try These DIY Organic Face Masks

fybc

Honey, Green Tea, and  Oatmeal Mask

This mask is wonderful for combination, oil or skin with acne. Just as if you were preparing your nighttime tea, soak a green tea bag in boiling water. Next, squeeze out the water from the tea bag into a mixing bowl. With the same tea bag, boil more water and use it to steam your face. Once the facial steaming is complete, begin concocting your face mask.

Mix the ground oatmeal, vitamin c powder and honey in a medium bowl. Don’t be afraid to experiment with the amount of each of the ingredients. Keep in mind that too much vitamin c will not only be hard to dissolve in the water but also it can irritate your skin. Next, apply the mask to your face and neck, but do so in an environment you aren’t afraid to get messy in. This mask takes some time to harden, so we suggest doing this mask when you have a minimum of an hour. There is no set amount of time to keep this mask on. We say the longer the better.

Ingredients:

2 Teaspoons honey

2 Teaspoons Ground Oatmeal

2 Teaspoons Water

Green Teabag

1/2 Teaspoon Vitamin C Powder

Oats, Eggs and Green Tea

Cut open 3 green tea teabags and empty the inside contents into a bowl. Squeeze a small amount of your normal moisturizer into the bowl. If you are looking to exfoliate, add  sea salt or granulated sugar into the mixture. Next, add in the 2 egg yolks, the rolled oats and a small amount of water and mix these ingredients together. If you are having trouble reaching the desired consistency, add more oats and water. In order to open the pores of your skin, rise gently with hot water before applying. Keep the mask on for 15 minutes then rise!

Ingredients:

3 Green Teabags

Facial moisturizer

Sea Salt or Granulated Sugar

2 Egg Yolks

Water

Rolled Oats
