Make A Statement With Your Brows & Lashes This Fall

FYBC 9:26

It’s September, and the fall season is just about here! Although each season brings its new trends in fashion and beauty, there is just something about those that emerge during the Fall. This Fall, it’s all about long lashes and full eyebrows. If you are trying to get on board with the latest seasonal trend, we can help. Not only are our beauty services the best in Denver, but our talented staff is great at creating the exact look you are going for.

Changing your look dramatically is not necessary in order to bring a fresh energy for fall. All it really takes is some restraint with your tweezers and the addition of some lash extensions.

The Key To Fuller Brows: To achieve the fuller brow look, it is not a bad idea to toss your tweezers to the back of your beauty drawer for a few weeks. Many of us fall into the trap of over plucking our brows. Instead of going crazy and getting rid of any stray hair, let your brows grow out a bit. Once your brows have reached optimal fullness, come and visit us! We can help you shape your brows perfectly with a quick wax all while maintaining the full brow look.

Achieve Longer Looking Lashes: Sometimes mascara just doesn’t cut it. If you are looking for a quick and effective way to fill out and lengthen your natural lashes, lash extensions are an amazing option. All it takes is one application appointment to achieve the look you are hoping for.

Trust our professionals to help you stay looking lovely all season long. Now is a great time to book your appointment with us!

3 Things That Better The Outcome of Any Spray Tan

FYBC 9:28

There is nothing worse than ruining a perfectly good spray tan. Since spray tans be costly to fix, we decided to let you in on a little secret. There are a few things you can do before your spray tan appointment that will drastically improve the outcome of your tan. Here at Forever Young Body Clinic, it is our job to get your spray tan right the very first time! However, by following these few pre-spray tan steps we can guarantee a spray tan that you will love.

  • Exfoliate

With a gritty or non-oil based scrub, exfoliate your skin well before coming in. Exfoliating before your spray tan remove any dead skin cells that may be on the surface of your skin. If your goal is an even tan, you don’t want to forget this step!

  • Put the Razor Down

We highly recommend NOT shaving or waxing (yes, that’s right ladies you heard us) until after your spray tan has settled overnight. Shaving can be a form of exfoliating and although it is helpful before a spray tan, exfoliating is a big no-no during the first 24 hours after a spray tan. Chances are shaving or waxing will remove your beautiful tan. So, feel free to book your wax prior to your spray tan!

  • No Makeup

Save yourself the last minute hassle and remove any makeup, lotions, or oils on your skin before coming into the salon! However, deodorant, lip gloss, and mascaras do not need to be removed.

We hope to make your spray tan experience with us the best yet. By considering these spray tan tips, chances are your spray tan will come out flawless. Book your appointment today online or simply call to set up your next spray tan! We look forward to seeing you.

Tanning Can Remain A Fall Priority!

FYBC 9:21

Although Colorado should experience a few more weeks of intense sunshine, days spent at the pool and laying are about to come to an end. Since Fall is just a few more days away, temperatures and the strength of the sun will drop significantly, meaning your outdoor tanning days are numbered. If you are determined to keep your tan all year round, we have a fantastic alternative for you. Sunless tanning is not only a healthy alternative to remaining sunkissed but it is a way to continue feeling freshly tanned and confident all year long.

Autumn in Colorado is truly amazing, but the drop in temperature can have a negative effect both physically and mentally. Maintaining a tan during the cooler months is a great way to combat the cold weather blues. A spray tan allows you to wear less makeup and certainly accents your fall style! Did we mention that spray tans are proven to help you appear slimmer? Spray tans are a celebrity go to for a reason. Not only will a fresh spray bring you an extra boost of self-confidence, but you will maintain a natural glow that can withstand the weather of any season.

Try out one of our custom spray tans this weekend and see for yourself. Today is the perfect time to reserve an appointment. Call or book online right now.

Tricks To Managing A Breakout At Home

FYBC 9:19

There are so many DIY skin remedies out there, but it can be tough to know which ones actually work. Here at FYBC, we have tested a few fabulous skin care tips that not only work but can be done in the comfort of your own home. Save your self a trip to the drug store because the ingredients you need for a quick skin care fix are most likely in your cabinets at home. Take control of your skin care once and for all with the help of these tips.

Sea Salt: Sea salt is an antiseptic, which is why many people notice that their skin clears up after being at the beach. The good news is that you don’t need to spend hours in the ocean to reap the benefits of saltwater. You can simply apply sea salt to your face to remove age spots, acne, and wrinkles.

Try it at home: All you really need to do is add one tablespoon of sea salt to a 16-ounce spray bottle of warm water. Lightly spritz your face with the combination each night and let the salt do its work.

Aspirin and Honey: This combination is perfect with skin irritation and inflammation strikes. Although aspirin is most commonly used for pain, it also reduces external swelling, which means a red, irritated pimple can go from noticeable to hardly visible in a short amount of time. Honey, on the other hand, is a natural antibiotic that can disinfect your pores.

Try it at home: Crush a single aspirin in a bowl and add a small amount of toner to create a paste. Apply the paste to your blemish for around five minutes. Wash it off and then apply honey and leave it on for ten minutes.

Lemon and Sugar:  This little trick is great if you are dealing with stubborn pores clogged with dirt and oil. This pair targets oily skin! Since lemons are a natural antiseptic and sugar is an exfoliant, this combination will open up your pores and penetrate the skin to fight acne.

Try it at home: Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle sugar on one of the exposed halves. Apply that to your face each night to remove dead skin. Say goodbye to acne and welcome fresh, glowing skin.

Ways To Prevent Dry Skin

FYBC 9:14The fall chill has moved in fast this season, which means the autumn weather is almost here. Soon the temperature will drop and the notorious Colorado dryness will set in. Although we love the autumn season here at FYBC, there are some downsides to fall and winter in Colorado. Dry skin is certainly a common symptom for most during this time of this year, however, there are a few ways to combat dry, irritated skin during colder weather. By simply added these steps to your daily skin routine, you will see a major difference in the way your skin looks and feels:

  • Avoid Washing Your Face Too Much – Over-washing your face in one day is going to dry your skin out faster than you think. Wash your face in the evening after a long day and use your moisturizer. In the morning, refresh your skin with a warm cloth but avoid scrubbing your face with any cleanser. By over-washing your face, you prevent the regeneration of skin cells and oils that will come in handy when the temperature drops.
  • Pair Your Moisturizer With Oil – Give your moisturizer a little help by adding a few drops of pure argan oil. The oil will replenish your skin and keep your face looking supple and glowing all day long. Argan oil has intense lasting power and will keep your skin hydrated!
  • Try A Hydrating Facial Mask – Once or twice a week give your skin a little love with a hydrating face mask. You can make your own using honey and plain yogurt. Leave your mask on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off. You will find that your face will look hydrated and happy!

Don’t let the chilly weather give your face a beating. Combat the Colorado dryness and look fabulous all season long with our help. For more information on our skin care, visit our salon today.

The Skinny On Longer Lashes

FYBC 9:12.jpg

If you are a lash-obsessed lady who doesn’t leave the house without applying mascara or false lashes, lash extensions may be a fabulous investment for you! Not only do Lash extensions allow you to have gorgeous length and volume without the hassle of reapplying mascara throughout the day, they are a natural and always gorgeous. Here at FYBC, we see lash extensions to be very similar to hair extensions, in the sense that they need a great deal of care in order to look their best. Without a little maintenance, they will never look the way you hope! If you are new to lashes or are looking maintenance advice, here are some simple tips that can help keep your lashes looking better, longer.

Avoid Sleeping On Your Stomach

The face to pillow sleeping position is a big no no and will surely crimp and bend your lashes! By sleeping face down, you will notice that certain lashes will become prone to dropping and become loose.

Avoid Applying Heavy Liner

Fantastic looking lashes means they must be clean and free from the build up of daily debris. Not only will applying heavy, thick liner to the bases of your extensions irritate your eyeliner but it will contribute to an unhealthy build up.

Cleanse with Anything But Cotton

Although lashes can handle contact with almost any product, cotton an exception. Cotton can easily stick to your lashes and cause detrimental tangles! Make sure to comb through your lashes after washing your face.

Make your appointment with FYBC online today! We look forward to seeing you and answering any questions you may have about lash extensions.

The 5 Worst Things You’re Doing To Your Skin

FYBC 9:7.jpgWhen it comes to your complexion, seeing a dermatologist isn’t the most important thing. What matters most is how you treat your skin every day. Whether you pride yourself in taking careful care of your skin or hardly touch your face, there are common missteps that can seriously mess with your complexion.  By stopping these 5 mistakes, you will be that much closer to healthier, younger looking skin.

Forgetting to wear sunscreen every day, including during winter:

Although UV rays are much stronger during the summer, they are present and active all year-long. UV won’t turn your skin red but they can cause wrinkling, age spots, and even cancer. Don’t forget that UV rays can penetrate the clouds and glass, so protect yourself with SPF all year round.

Taking long, hot showers:

Long, hot showers are a sure-fire way to turn your skin flaky and dry! Hot water strips the oil and moisture from your skin, leaving it itchy. So, if you already have dry skin, the worst thing you can do is take more hot showers. A great rule of thumb; if your mirror steams up, your water is too hot. Turn down the temperature and get out before your skin prunes. After showering, apply lotion!

Not getting enough sleep:

Aside from under eye circles, sleeping too little doesn’t allow your skin to repair itself. Nighttime is an important time for your skin as it works to create, mend and shed skin cells. For healthier looking skin, you should get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.

Going to sleep without washing your face:

Although you should be washing your face twice a day (when you wake up and before you go to be), as long as you wash before bed, all is well. Sleeping with impurities, makeup and built up oil will not only disrupt your cell turnover causing your skin to look dull but it will clog your pores and cause black heads.

Attempting to scrub acne away:
Acne is a hormonal issue, not a hygiene problem. That being said, excessively cleaning your skin with soap and other exfoliants will only hurt you not help. Over-cleansing will inhibit medications or other products from clearing your condition. Instead of scrubbing, wash your face gently with a cleanser that contains salicylic acid.
